I often need to clear my solar panels of snow. We have been getting snow every few days which means I need to clear panels off every few days.
Despite a completely charged battery, solar charge controllers and other devices that are connected may be emptying electricity so its key that you just keep the panels of snow and ice charge the battery as needed. Despite a layer of snow panels will take in solar power as long as that solar power is sufficient to replenish the electricity lost to say a charge control. Usually however, its best to keep them clear as really possible. Even on the coldest days, panels using a large of ice on them will melt down and clear themselves as long as you clear off the majority of the snow load them
I have 3 distinct sets of panels to either clear or rearrange myself so its a common event.
