Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation may be utilized in two common methods to insulate your loft space and safeguard your house from in moisture and climate weather associated damages – Vented and Non-Vented Loft spaces. In a Vented attic, insulating material is utilized on the loft floor to insulate the living space from seasonal heat and cold. Aerosol foam is used where conventional insulating material would be; between the floor joists. The remaining part of the loft (ie: the roof construction) is left un-insulated and ventilation is integrated into the gable, soffit, and ridge vents through the roof construction. In a Non-Vented attic, insulation is applied right to the bottom of the roof sheathing to insulate the whole loft from seasonal heat and cold. Aerosol foam is installed between the roofing rafters, along the soffit spaces and right to all outdoor surfaces including gable walls, dormers, etc., to create an air tight building envelope.
